Sashiko Sampler Turtle Shell - Navy by Olympus.
These distinctive hitomezashi sashiko feature traditional Japanese design. Following the stencilled lines on the muslin, your sashiko stitches will define the structure of the design. In a second step the thread is woven through the sashiko stitches according to a pattern shown in the instructions. The cloth is then washed to reveal the design clear of the stencilled lines.
This panel can be sewn into a cushion, bag, table runner or other home accessory.

The instructions are written in Japanese but include good diagrams which are easy to follow without understanding the text.
