Au Ver a Soie, Soie d'Alger is a 7 stranded spun silk, which is easily divided. Used in the same manner as stranded cotton, you stitch with the number of strands required to achieve the thread thickness that is right for your project. Soie D'Alger is made from a spun silk called "strusas" which gives it unrivalled regularity for hand embroidery.
