Description

Blue Tailed Whistler embroidery design measures 8cm x 10cm wide (3 1/4” x 4”).

INTERMEDIATE level, this is an ideal project if you are familiar with the basics of raised embroidery and are looking for a bit of a challenge.
A brightly coloured Blue Tailed Whistler is cheerfully perched in a small snow berry tree.
The body of the bird is embroidered as a separate piece, or slip, before being stitched in place over layers of felt padding. The slightly raised wing is also created separately before being attached over the raised body. Needle lace is used to create the tail feathers and wired leaves add a final touch to the tree the bird is sitting in.
