When Winter Wanes, William Giles - The British Museum - Cross Stitch Kit by DMC
DMC collaborated with the classic British Museum to design a series of limited edition cross stitch kits.
Using DMC Embroidery Threads, the paintings are faithfully reproduced and the colours selected for the cross stitch kit have been expertly matched to the original artwork.
Remaking this iconic woodcut in cross stitch using DMC’s Mouliné Spécial will enable you to engage with the painting in a new way. The kit includes everything you need to stitch the design, originally produced in 1924, which features two peacocks sheltering under a tree.
William Giles was a wood-engraver, lithographer, etcher and painter. He was born in Reading and went on to study at the Royal College of Art and later in Paris. His most notable works are watercolour and colour-prints of mostly landscapes and birds.
