Originally made in Mauchline, Scotland, they soon spread across Europe.

In our version, the material is not paper but genuine tartan fabric, enclosed in a layer of crystal acetate. These numbers show that the two parts have been precisely adjusted from the very first assembly step. On the photos shown here, the number is 25. This number varies from one pair to another.
Once this adjustment is done, the scissors are disassembled so that each part can undergo the necessary treatments, before being reassembled and perfectly finished.
In the 19th century, the production of such scissors required the expertise of a cutler for the steel blades and an ornamental turner for the handles. Today, this distribution of skills continues: the blades are made by a cutler, and the handles are crafted in our own workshops.

Made in France.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0698/5331/5361/files/pair-of-embroidery-scissors-tartan-fabric.jpg?v=1784032517
https://stitcherscorner.com.au/products/sajou-mother-of-pearl-scissors-cross-model-private-collection-copy
